These programs provide continuing education and lifelong learning for an extensive group of professionals.

Region IX RCEP General Program
RCEP IX provides training and continuing education opportunities to personnel of the seven vocational rehabilitation agencies, client assistance programs, independent living centers and Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation programs. These entities include American Samoa, Arizona, California, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Hawaii, and Nevada.

Region IX Community Rehabilitation Program
Rehabilitation education at San Diego State University [SDSU] is nationally recognized as one of the eight best programs in America. The SDSU Regional Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program has been in existence for over twenty years at the Institute. In 1996, the Continuing Education Program for Community Rehabilitation Personnel was established through a cooperative agreement with the federal government. The CRP RCEP IX is under the leadership of Dr. Fred McFarlane and Dr. Caren Sax.

Project Online (Capacity Building)
Project Online is a three year project funded by the Department of Education - Rehabilitation Services Administration. The overarching goal of Project Online is the development of an online model that will build capacity within minority entities and Indian tribes to improve services for minorities with significant disabilities.

Project Higher Education
The overarching goal of Project Higher Ed is to develop a prototype of disability education and training for faculty and administrators in institutions of higher education. The training will foster and enhance faculty's and administrator's: 1) knowledge of disability and 2) skills and strategies necessary for meeting the postsecondary needs of students with disabilities.

Point of Transition Service Integration Project
This project has developed and implemented the Transition Service Integration Model (Pumpian & Certo, 1996) in approximately a dozen communities in California which has resulted in a seamless transition from school to integrated direct-hire employment, Postsecondary education and inclusive access to a wide range of preferred community activities and settings for students with severe disabilities during their last year in public school (i.e., typically students who are 21 years old).
