Application
Procedures
Candidates for
admission will typically come from one of the disciplines offered
in the life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering.
The complete application,
including the application form, application fee, GRE scores and
all transcripts for this professional masters degree program must
be postmarked by November 1 for Spring admission and May 1 for admission
in the Fall semester. The application form is available online by
visiting CSU Mentor. Class
size is limited, so late applications may be rejected if the entering
class is full. All students must satisfy the general admission and
examination requirements for admission to the University with classified
graduate standing, as described in Part Two of the Bulletin of the
Graduate Division. The following are required for a complete application.
Application
for Admission. The web-based graduate application is
located online by visiting CSU
Mentor.
You can pay your application
fee by credit card, check or money order at the end of the application
process. Choosing the credit card method of payment will assist
in expediting the processing of your application.
Two Copies of all Official Transcripts.
Please request official transcripts from all colleges and universities
listed on your application form. A Transcript
Request form is included on this website for your convenience.
Two copies of each transcript should be sent directly from the
college or university to SDSU Enrollment Services (address below).
Three Letters of Recommendation. At least two
of these letters should come, when possible, from professors, supervisors
or business associates who can discuss knowledgeably your leadership
and academic abilities, accomplishments and potential. These recommendations should be sent to the Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs office
(address below) directly from the recommender.
Results of the
Graduate Record Examination. The Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) is administered at Educational Testing Service testing sites
across the country. The results of this test must be submitted
as part of your application. Please be sure to use the correct
SDSU institutional code (4682) on your GRE registration form.
ETS will send your GRE score to SDSU Enrollment Services.
International applicants: All applicants who have not attended
secondary or postsecondary educational institutions where English
is the language of instruction for AT LEAST 3 YEARS of full-time
transferable level enrollment (12 to 15 transferable units per
semester, but no ESL) must submit a TOEFL score of 550 paper-based;
213 computer-based or 79 internet-based. The TOEFL must be taken
in addition to the GRE.
Statement of
Career Objectives. This statement should include a description
of your long- and short-term career goals, and the ways in which
you believe this degree will help you to achieve them. You will
submit this statement as part of your application through CSU
Mentor.
Reverse-Chronological
Resume of Work Experience. The resume should include
job title, organization (nature of business), location, dates
of employment, a summary of duties and responsibilities, and a
description of your organizational unit (size, scope, budget,
personnel, and reporting relationship) for each position held.
Your resume should be sent to the Master of Science in Regulatory
Affairs office (address below).
Your completed application
form and the $55 application fee should be submitted to SDSU via
CSU Mentor.

Incomplete application
packets will not be reviewed.
Individuals not admitted
or not wishing to be admitted to the degree program may enroll
in individual Regulatory Affairs courses through the College
of Extended Studies. Fees will be $515 per unit. There is a
limit on the number of units transferable into the degree program.

Information
for Non-U.S. Applicants
In addition to filling
out the application forms listed on our web
site, applicants who are not U.S. citizens should contact the San
Diego State University (SDSU) International
Student Center for further information regarding application
to this SDSU graduate degree program. In particular, their web
page about procedures may be useful.
All applicants for whom
English is not their first language will be required to submit results
of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test scores
as part of their application. More information about this test may
be found at the TOEFL web site.
Finally, non-U.S. applicants
please note that the deadline for application by non-U.S. citizens
is one month earlier that that stated for U.S. citizens:
