2. REFLECTION JOURNAL ENTRIES
In order to further develop higher order thinking and written
communications skills, you will reflect on various aspects
of your learning during the semester. These reflections require
that you think as deeply as you can about your own personal
beliefs and feelings about what you are learning. Superficial
reflections are not acceptable. As the semester progresses,
you should try to become more reflective and strive to improve
the quality of thought and writing.
Your reflections can be handwritten in a notebook (providing
you have a legible handwriting) or typed or word-processed
on separate sheets of paper that will eventually be bound
together.
Topics for reflection include the following:
A. What I have learned about curriculum I didn't know (Due
10/14)
Describe what you have learned thus far. Take a few of
the concepts and describe them in detail. What do they
mean to you as a person and a professional.
B. Ways in which I can put to use what I have learned
(Due 11/25)
Describe ho you can use what you have learned now or
in the future. Take a few of the ideas and be very specific
with them.
C. After this course I intend to what? (Due 11/25)
D. Readings (Due 10/14 & 11/25)
You must discuss each chapter in the two textbooks. What
did you learn from the readings? What do you think of
them? Why do you think that ?
E. Classroom Activities (Due 10/14 & 11/25)
You should have some reflective thoughts about each class
session you attend. Some classes might produce few thoughts
while others may be more fertile.
