ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW

ASSIGNMENTS
Following is an outline of the assignments for this course. More detail regarding each assignment will be provided in class or individually as needed. The assignments are divided into five major categories: readings, written, performance, oral and electronic communications.

A. Readings

  1. The required text.
  2. All handouts distributed in class.

All reading materal assigned should be read prior to the class in which it will be discussed.

B.Written.

  1. Philosophy Statement and Revision
  2. A group project involving the impact of Title Wave II on San Diego County Community Colleges.
    1. adult learner
    2. adult learning facilitator

All assignments must be typewritten or word processed, double spaced and typed on one side of the paper(expect, possibly for the Reflection Journal).  Allow adequate margins for comments.  Include pertinent data (your name, course, assignment) on the first page.

C. Oral

  1. In-class discussion.
  2. Review of group project.
  3. Review of interviews.

Since this is a seminar course, discussion will be a major component of class time. All students are expected to contribute, on a regular basis, to class discussions. All discussions and presentations will be conducted in a professional manner suitable for the enhancement of adult learning.

D. Electronic Communications

You will participate in an Electronic Discussion Forum as part of Blackboard with the instructor and other class members. You will be expected to contribute on a weekly basis, at least, by answering questions, posing questions or responding to other students' discussions. Your participation in the Forum will contribute to your Seminar Participation grade. Quantity and quality of postings are equally important. The blackboard web site is blackboard.sdsu.edu.
