Dear ARP 730 Student:
Welcome to our course, Seminar in Adult Learning. This course is offered
for students enrolled in the MA in Postsecondary Education Leadership
and MA or MS programs throughout the campus. If you are interested in
working with adults in an educational setting, this course is for you!
In this class, we will learn about adult learning theories, especially
andragogy, the many influences on adult learning, like adult developmental
tasks, aging, and adult learning styles, and exemplary practices of facilitating
adult learning. We will also visit an adult education center. Additionally
you will be working on a very important group project involving the community
colleges in the county. The results of your efforts may very well influence
state policy toward community colleges for years to come.
Learning is often characterized as a “shared journey”.
We are now traveling this road together!
Best wishes for a successful learning experience,
