- Department of Human and Social Services (DHSS). I am a Counselor/Treatment Provider for both youth and adults in the Behavioral Health Services Branch of the DHSS. Job description consists of providing assistance to clients that will enable the individual to help themselves become more self-efficient. Be able to provide treatment to both Individuals and in a group setting both in a safe environment. Also provide support, consultation as well as methods that are proven to be beneficial in order to help people deal with issues such as marital problems, suicidal feelings, stress management, and self esteem issues but not limited to other underling problems.
- I am in the program in order to ultimately achieve my life goal, which is to be able to serve my community the best possible way, is to further educate myself to become a stronger leader by achieving a higher learning.

- My name is Matau'a T. A'asa-Matai. I am currently working as a secondary guidance counselor for the 10th grade students at Leone High School. I have been a counselor for 11 eleven years now.
- Upon taking up the post as a counselor, I was totally lost because I had not been trained to become one. Through the years, I have attended various worshops, locally, that somehow relates to the field of counseling. When this opportunity came by, I wanted to be part of it so that I would become a more efficient facilitator for the population that I am currently serving and also those young one coming along the way. That is the main purpose why I long to be in this cohort program.
