Assistant Director for Greek Life, Student Life & Leadership Yvonne Hernandez has been serving as the Assistant Director for Student Life and Leadership at San Diego State University for the past 3 years with responsibility over fraternity and sorority life, registered student organizations, late night programming and university event approvals. Previously, she worked for 5 years in residential education as a residence hall coordinator and assistant director specializing in freshmen year experience, academic programming and living/learning communities. Her areas of academic interest are in campus ecology and how underrepresented student view and navigate the university environment. Specifically, utilizing qualitative methodologies, such as, digital storytelling to show their experiences/stories. Yvonne’s Ph.D. is in Education from San Diego State University & Claremont Graduate University. She received a Master’s degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education and a B.A. in Political Science from Arizona State University. Dr. Hernandez can be reached at yhernan@mail.sdsu.edu. |
