Dissertation Committee Advice
After consulting your handbook on guidelines for selecting your dissertation committee, this link provides advice for selecting and working with your committee.

Evaluation of Dissertations
The following rubrics, adapted from the SDSU Student research Symposium rubrics, will be used by your committee to evaluate your dissertation both at your proposal and at your defense.  The appropriate portions of the rubrics will be applied to your proposal. 

Written Dissertation Rubric
This rubric will be applied to the written portion of your dissertation.  The appropriate portions of the rubrics will be applied to your proposal. 

Oral Dissertation Rubric
This rubric will be applied to the oral presentation of your dissertation during your proposal and the defense of your dissertation.  The appropriate portions of the rubrics will be applied to your proposal. 

ED 836 Dissertation Criteria
This criteria checklist is mapped to the written and oral dissertation rubrics.  The purpose of this checklist is for use by you, the student, and your dissertation advisor.  On this criteria checklist, you will note that certain sections are mapped back to the rubrics that will be used to evaluate your dissertation proposal and defense.
