Dr. Felisha Herrera Villarreal has been named as a 2016 American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) Fellow.
AAHHE bestows this honor on "key leaders, scholars, teachers, and artists who have advocated, supported, and championed Latinos in higher education. The Faculty Fellowships have been developed to recognize individuals who, through their expertise, energy, productivity, and contributions, have improved the conditions of Latinos pursuing a college degree or a career in higher education. "
In particular, AAHHE is acknowledging Dr. Herrera Villareal's outstanding scholarly contributions that help us understand how to better serve Latino students and other historically marginalized student populations in community colleges and other post-secondary institutions.
