How do I get to Interwork Institute?

How much does parking at Interwork cost?
Parking at Interwork Institute is free and no permit is required.
What G.P.A. is required for admittance into the program?
A G.P.A. of 2.85 is required for program admittance; however, some exceptions are provided based on personal and professional qualifications.
What G.R.E. score is needed to enter the program?
There is no set G.R.E. score needed to enter the program, however you must have a G.R.E. score. The GRE school code for our program is 4682.
Do my references need to be professors or can they be professional references?
Your references can be either professional references or faculty. These should be mailed in sealed envelopes with your application.
Can the statement of purpose on the departmental application be similar to the statement on the CSU Application?
Yes, it may. The CSU application has a 500-word maximum where the departmental application does not.
Can I take courses from another university online and have it credited towards my degree?
Clearance to take any course, including an on-line course from another university needs to first be approved by your advisor and the SDSU Graduate Division.
Can courses be substituted into my degree plan and count towards graduation?
If you would like to substitute a course into your degree plan, you must obtain permission from your advisor. Be prepared to explain what you expect to learn from the course and how it will contribute to your personal, professional, and program learning goals.
Why is the Student Affairs/Services program located at Interwork Institute and not in the College of Education?
The Department - ARPE - is one of the six Departments within the College of Education. The Institute is in the College of Education administered through the Department of ARPE. The Institue is the organizational home for non-state- supported education, research and service effort. It also provides the physical location for the Department and Institute activities.
How do I file for a thesis?
In order to file for a thesis, you must have an official program filed and be advanced to candidacy. This can happen after you have completed 12 hours of coursework. You must file forms through the graduate committee and get signatures from your committee and committee chair. 799A is the thesis course and is only 3 units. If you cannot finish your thesis in one semester, you may register for 799B, a no credit course. If you would like to register for more than 3 units of research credit, you may register for 798 A. Are tuition waivers available?
A tuition waiver is only for out-of-state or out of country students. Tuition waivers are allocated university wide--not by department. Tuition waivers are available on a first come first serve basis, and must accompany the award of a graduate assistantship. Tuition waivers are only available until the university awards the university's allocation. Therefore, early application of Graduate Assistantships is highly encouraged.
