Manny Enriquez joined the Interwork Institute and the Department
of Administration, Rehabilitation and Post-Secondary Education (ARPE)
in October 2002 after a 31-year career with the California Department
of Rehabilitation (DOR). His DOR experiences include vocational
rehabilitation counselor, rehabilitation supervisor, district administrator,
and regional administrator. Prior to leaving the Department, Manny
served as Deputy Director for the Employment Preparation Services
(EPS) division. In that capacity, he planned and directed the operations
of district and field offices for Southern California and other
statewide programs. He also served as Project Director for the Department’s
Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker Programs and coordinated the Hispanic
Advisory Committee to promote services to mono-lingual and bi-lingual
Spanish speaking consumers. In collaboration with Dr. Fred McFarlane
and the staff at the Interwork Institute, Manny led the Department’s
efforts to develop and implement a Distance Learning Masters Degree
program in Rehabilitation Counseling.
As a member of the Interwork Institute staff, Manny has key responsibility
for the development of the National Rehabilitation Leadership Institute
(NRLI) module on Diversity and Employment Outcomes. He will also
be a co-developer of a second module addressing issues related to
legal and financial policies. He serves as an advisor and consultant
on the Tri-lateral Consortium Project with universities in Mexico
and Canada, on the RTACE IX recruitment and empowerment initiative,
and with the ARPE on issues impacting the public vocational rehabilitation
program at the state, regional and national levels. Manny received
his Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University
of La Verne, and his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona.
