Rehabilitation Counseling No. 4 in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

The Rehabilitation Counseling Program reached No. 4 out of 96 rehabilitation counseling programs ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The program, which is delivered both in person and 100 percent online, moved up six spots from No. 10 from the previous rankings in 2015. Significantly, SDSU is the only program ranked in the Top 4 that does not feature a Ph.D. program.

“We're very proud to have our highest ranking ever among rehabilitation counseling programs,” said Dr. Caren Sax, professor and chair of the Department of Administration, Rehabilitation and Postsecondary Education. “Our recent addition of a path for becoming a licensed professional clinical counselor, along with our other specializations in psychiatric rehabilitation, cognitive disabilities, assistive technology and transition services, attract talented applicants. These students become employed in state vocational rehabilitation agencies, California community colleges and universities and many local profit and non-profit organizations that serve individuals with disabilities.”
