Jim Warne:"Native Perspectives" film featured on NFL pre-game

Jim Warne, Oglala Lakota tribal member and director of community engagement at the University of South Dakota’s Center for Disabilities, was featured in a pre-game segment on the FOX television network leading up to the broadcast of an NFL football game on Thanksgiving Day, as part of their Social Justice series. Jim worked at SDSU's Interwork Institute for nearly 20 years, directing several grant projects that supported individuals working in Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies to earn advanced certificates and the MS degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.

The segment, Native Perspectives discussed inappropriate American Indian nicknames for athletic teams, and it also noted the many problems facing today’s American Indian tribes and reservation residents and communities.
