Kenna Hickman
Kenna Hickman has worked in the field of rehabilitation services for more than 40 years. She began her career as a Counselor Assistant and advanced to Counselor, gaining experience across a wide variety of caseloads. Kenna has held numerous rehabilitation management positions and served on the Executive Staff of the California Department of Rehabilitation, where she oversaw the Blind Services Division, Deaf Services Division, Medical Services Division, Field Support and Policy Division, and Collaborative Services—a model program using thirdparty match and emphasizing partnerships with Education and Mental Health.
Kenna has also served on the faculty at San Diego State University, teaching in the Department of Administration, Rehabilitation and Postsecondary Education, where she was selected as the Most Influential Faculty Member in the Rehabilitation Counseling M.S. Program in 2018. Since 2016, she has worked as a consultant through the Interwork Institute and has served on the faculty of the National Rehabilitation Leadership Institute since 2021.
