[MUSIC PLAYING IN BACKGROUND]
CSC: Nancy’s biological mother passed away when she was 5 years old and she had Marfan Syndrome which is a genetic syndrome which has been passed down to Nancy and her brothers.
CSC: I know there has been a lot of changes in your family right?
NANCY: Yeah.
CSC: Actually just a year ago your step mom passed away too.
NANCY: Yeah.
CSC: Nancy’s father has had a stroke and is doing the best he could to take care of himself.
CSC: I know you have lots of different agencies that have been able to do different things for you.
NANCY: Yeah.
CSC: And then with CaPROMISE we’ve assisted you with your educational plan, right?
Nancy: Uh-huh
CSC: We’ve been there since before you had Gio as well as and we will continue to be here. Nancy is trying to get herself completed at school in order for her to graduate and after that we are hoping we could find some type of work experience in order for her to go and apply for a job. Nancy will be participating in the Department of Rehabilitation [DOR] program so Nancy will have the opportunity to have a counselor that will work directly with her as part of DOR.
CSC: What would you like to see yourself doing in the future?
NANCY: I would be a nurse working with older people…like helping them.
CSC: So it would be good if we could find you some type of volunteering to work with the elderly?
NANCY: Yeah.
CSC: Any why do you want to work?
NANCY: To support me and my son.
