Sustainability of CaPROMISE

The opportunity and the challenge is to continue providing support and interventions for the CaPROMISE youth –

• The youth will be between the ages of 16 and 21 when the OSEP funding ends on September 30, 2018 (see slide 16)
• Typical transition plans take 3 to 6 years; most youth will have 3 years enrollment on September 30, 2018 (see slide 17)
• Career and Work-Based Learning Services
• CDOR is working to make each youth VR eligible and developing an Individualized Plan of Employment
• The individualized support for family members are typically not covered by existing funding organizations that serve the youth – these supports are essential
