The emerging public policy issues impacting the CaPROMISE youth and their families are creating opportunities and challenges, including:

• Working with the youth and family members through multiple provider systems is unusual and complicated
• SSA implementation of regulations vary from office to office (lack of consistency)
• Career and Work-Based Learning Services
• Funded programs in schools, state agencies and community organizations have evolved over time and are driven by legislative mandates (system-centric design)
• WIOA is changing the expectations and requirements for transition-aged youth
• Data sharing and case management systems impact collaboration
